About the Role

A reputable institution operating within the marine sector is seeking a qualified Internal Auditor to lead the Internal Audit Department and oversee critical financial and operational controls.

Core Responsibilities

• Head the Internal Audit Department and supervise all audit staff
• Oversee accounting and internal control systems
• Ensure compliance with all financial control mechanisms
• Examine financial and operational transactions
• Review compliance with all financial regulations and laws
• Conduct special investigations into suspected fraud and related matters
• Analyze financial operations and recommend solutions to prevent revenue leakages and losses
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• BSc degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or Actuarial Science
• Qualified membership of a professional accounting body (ACCA, ICA, or CIMA)
• Certification and membership of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA) is an added advantage

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years in Audit or Finance
• At least 3 years in a similar Internal Audit position
• Demonstrable experience in internal audit and investigation
• Proficiency with audit tools, techniques, and Sage Evolution Solution Software
• Work experience in a unionized environment is an added advantage
