Position Overview

BIA Lamplighter College of Education is seeking a qualified, goal-oriented, analytical, innovative, and results-driven professional for the position of Internal Auditor. The successful candidate will provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the institution's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine the reliability and adequacy of accounting, financial, and operational controls within the college
• Evaluate college procedures to ensure results are consistent with stated objectives and goals
• Monitor compliance with established policies, plans, and procedures
• Appraise the quality of performance of those carrying out assigned responsibilities
• Assess the extent to which assets are properly accounted for and safeguarded against losses
• Ensure that reliable records form the basis for the preparation of appropriate financial and operational data for decision-making
• Bring deficiencies in systems, duplicated functions, waste, or inefficiencies to the attention of the Principal with recommendations for remedies
• Carry out special reviews of accounting and internal control systems to minimize weaknesses

Role Purpose

The Internal Auditor will help the college accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve risk management, control, and governance processes.

Qualifications Required

• Good first degree or comparable qualification
• Relevant professional qualification with a Master's degree in a related field
• Current membership in a professional accounting or auditing body
