Job Summary
The Institute Registrar is responsible to the Rector of a constituent institute and subject to directives the Registrar may issue from time to time. The Institute Registrar is the Head of General Administration of the constituent institute and a non-voting member of the Institute Board. This position serves as Secretary to the Institute Board and other standing boards and committees.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead general administration of the constituent institute
- Serve as Secretary to the Institute Board and standing committees
- Act as a non-voting member of the Institute Board
- Support the Rector in institute governance and administration
Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant area
- At least 10 years of post-qualification senior-level experience, preferably in higher education
- Previous service as Deputy Registrar or Deputy Director with relevant university administration experience, or an analogous position in a university or similar institution
- At least 5 years of service as Senior Assistant Registrar
Required Skills and Competencies
- High-level analytical skills
- Strong business sense
- Deep understanding of strategic and operational issues in university management
- Knowledge of challenges in top-level university administration
- Relevant experience in public administration
Employment Terms
This is a full-time position with an initial contract term of 3 years. The appointment may be renewed for an additional term of up to 2 years or part thereof, but not beyond the compulsory statutory retirement age of 60.
