Position Overview
The University of Media Arts and Communication (UniMAC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Institute Finance Officer. This role is responsible to the Rector for the financial administration of the constituent institute, subject to directives issued by the Registrar and the Director of Finance.
Job Summary
The Institute Finance Officer oversees financial administration and management of the university institute while maintaining compliance with institutional directives and governance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification and a relevant postgraduate degree
- Membership in a relevant professional accounting or finance body, preferably one of the following:
- Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA)
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years post-professional qualification experience in a university or highly reputable and recognised accounting firm, industry, commerce, or public service
- Previous service in a university or analogous institution as Deputy Director of Finance (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant
Employment Terms
- Full-time position
- Initial contract: 3 years
- Renewal: Eligible for renewal for an additional 2-year term or part thereof (not beyond compulsory retirement age of 60)
- Remuneration: Conditions of service as applicable in Government of Ghana subvented Universities
