Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain research grant sources and disseminate research funding opportunities
• Coordinate proposal development teams and provide pre-award support
• Prepare all contracts and portfolios for research, grants, and consultancies
• Maintain a complete and accurate database of contracts for sub-awards, research, grants, and consultancies
• Seek and manage HCC's registration with international institutions that offer research grants and funding platforms
• Review proposals for completeness and compliance with national and institutional regulations, policies, guidelines, and administrative, financial, and programmatic reporting requirements
• Liaise with principal investigators, subcontractors, sponsored project offices, and funding agencies
• Link industry partners with researchers and establish funding mechanisms
• Identify linkages between philanthropic individuals and agencies with HCC
• Maintain relationships with industry players and keep a complete and accurate database of industry contacts
• Seek patent registration for innovative works
• Pursue industry linkages to commercialize innovative research findings
• Prepare policy briefs for engagement with national policymakers
• Identify, coordinate, and compile research business development and strategic research plans from faculty, staff, and students

Required Qualifications

• Postgraduate university degree in a relevant discipline
• Extensive experience in sourcing grants and securing external grants and project funding
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply sponsor, national, and institutional policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional qualification in Project Management, International Development, Research Administration, Marketing, or Business Administration
