Head for Data Network at AirtelTigo

About the Role

The successful candidate will join our team as Head of Data Network in the Network Department. You will report to the Planning Director and oversee data network capacity planning, dimensioning, and optimization. You will engineer enterprise solutions and ensure redundant and resilient data network infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities

Data Network Optimization

• Take ownership and monitor Key Performance Indicators related to core network
• Ensure efficient usage of the Data Network and interfaces

Data Network Planning

• Maintain and supervise implementation of a 5-year Data Network expansion plan (Packet switch, MPBN, EDGE routers, Caching services, IPLC, etc.) in line with approved network strategy and within performance targets
• Conduct capacity planning and dimensioning for all Data Network nodes (Packet switch, MPBN, EDGE routers, switches, Caching services, IPLC, etc.) in line with agreed capacity management guidelines
• Define and implement solutions aligned with best practices and future strategy
• Ensure network resilience for all Data Network nodes in line with agreed Network Availability KPIs

Enterprise Solution Architecture

• Provide technical centre of excellence for core and IP transport-related issues
• Maintain up-to-date documentation on current network architecture and services
• Deliver the AirtelTigo Ghana MPBN backbone network and related IP access network

• Data Network KPIs
• Availability Service Level Agreement (SLA)
• Delivery Service Level Agreement (SLA)

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Telecommunication
• 8 years of relevant experience
