About Our Africa Operations

Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana:

• Ahafo Mine (located in the Brong-Ahafo region)
• Akyem Mine (located in the Eastern region)

The operations also conduct near-mine exploration and development to annually replace gold reserves, with early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.

Africa operations employ approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. Both Akyem and Ahafo mines have made significant sustainable community development investments, establishing Development Funds where each mine contributes US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into community development initiatives.

About This Role

Provide mining operation geotechnical engineering and hydrological support related to the design and construction of key features within the mine.
