Finance Officer at BIA Lamplighter College of Education

Position Overview

BIA Lamplighter College of Education is seeking a suitably qualified, goal-oriented, analytical, innovative, visionary, and results-driven professional for the position of Finance Officer. This is a top management position heading a major division of the college.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Chief Accounting Officer of the college and Chief Financial Advisor to the Principal
• Administer the financial affairs of the college to ensure its financial health
• Exercise direct superintendence over all accounting officers
• Collect all legitimate revenue due to the college
• Exercise control over expenditure in line with the college's objectives and budgets
• Prepare the annual budget for presentation to the appropriate governing body for approval and implementation
• Ensure that financial statements are drawn up in accordance with the law establishing the colleges, the statutes, applicable accounting standards, and all other regulations approved by the college and relevant national laws
• Liaise with appointed external auditors to ensure the college's financial statements are audited

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree (first class or good upper division) or comparable qualification in a relevant field
• Professional qualification or Master's degree in Finance (preferred)
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Deputy Finance Officer in a College of Education or comparable position in a similar institution or organization
