About the Position

The Legal Aid Commission, a reputable government institution, invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Executive Director. This role provides strategic leadership, technical and administrative direction for the achievement of the Commission's mandate.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Commission
• Initiate action for the formulation of policies
• Ensure implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and activities
• Serve as a member of the Governing Board
• Exercise oversight responsibility for efficient and effective management of human, material and financial resources
• Develop systems for participation of paralegals in legal aid delivery
• Represent the Commission on related international bodies and agencies
• Develop and oversee the strategic plan of the Commission
• Establish appropriate internal structures, controls, management and decision-making systems and processes
• Mobilise funds from development partners and other stakeholders
• Prepare annual and other periodic reports
• Build and manage an effective, dedicated, and inclusive work environment
• Collaborate and build relationships with Government, Public and Private sector partners, and other stakeholders at national and international levels
• Sign and seal contractual agreements between individuals or groups and the Commission
• Prepare and oversee the budget and work plans
• Implement performance management systems
