About the Position

The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Electrical Engineer. This full-time role provides operational support for the achievement of the Institute's objectives.

Position Overview

As an Electrical Engineer, you will design, develop, and test electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors, navigation systems, and electrical systems for automobiles. You will oversee the manufacture of these devices, manage systems and equipment installations, and perform servicing and maintenance. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of complex institutional electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, implement, and improve electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment, products, or systems for industrial, commercial, or domestic purposes
• Perform a wide range of engineering tasks using computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment
• Confer with customers, engineers, and other stakeholders to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects
• Ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps
• Establish construction, manufacturing, or installation standards and specifications by performing detailed calculations
• Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements

Required Qualifications

• Licensed professional engineer
• Extensive experience as an electrical engineer in a related organization
