## Title: Deputy Director of Public Engagement
About the Role
The Parliamentary Service of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill a vacancy for the position of Deputy Director of Public Engagement (Citizens Bureau). This role provides critical support to the Clerk to Parliament and management of the service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate engagements between Parliament and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)/think tanks on critical issues of national importance by arranging meetings between the Speaker of Parliament, Members of Parliament, Clerk to Parliament, and parliamentary committees with CSOs and think tanks
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of CSOs and think tanks operating in Ghana, classifying them by area of work and aligning them with the various committee clusters of Parliament
- Facilitate information sharing of approved parliamentary information with CSOs and think tanks upon request, and share research findings from CSOs and think tanks with Members of Parliament and committees to support their work and respond to inquiries on issues before Parliament
- Facilitate capacity-building through workshops and seminars for CSOs on the workings of Parliament and coordinate collaborative events between Parliament and CSOs
- Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of Open Government Partnership and Open Parliament initiatives
- Provide technical support to the Open Government Partnership caucus in Parliament and the Open Parliament steering committee, and facilitate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of related initiatives
