Position Overview
The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the senior-level administrative position of Dean, School of Languages within the College of Humanities.

Reports to: Provost, College of Humanities
About the School of Languages
The School of Languages comprises the following departments:
- Department of English
- Department of French
- Department of Linguistics
- Department of Modern Languages
College of Humanities Objectives
The College of Humanities advances its objectives through the following goals:
- Create synergy for interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and research in the Arts, Social Sciences, Business, and Law
- Provide faculty and students with skills in various fields to contribute to the country's development needs
- Establish and promote international networks in Arts, Social Sciences, Business, and Law
- Enhance the sharing of human, financial, and material resources
Qualifications and Attributes
The successful candidate must:
- Hold professorial rank from an academic/research institution or be a person from industry eligible for that position
- Demonstrate capability in providing academic leadership in teaching, research, and extension in relevant disciplines
- Provide evidence of managerial and administrative leadership and capacity to promote a collegial working environment in the School
- Demonstrate capacity to attract funding for research and development
- Have the vision and drive to oversee the growth and development of the School
Key Responsibilities
The Dean is responsible for providing leadership to the School and for maintaining and promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of the School's operations.
