About the College of Basic and Applied Sciences

The College of Basic and Applied Sciences advances the objectives of its constituent units through the following priorities:

About the School of Biological Sciences

The School of Biological Sciences comprises five departments:

• Department of Animal Biology and Conservation Science
• Department of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology
• Department of Plant and Environmental Biology
• Department of Marine and Fisheries Sciences
• Department of Nutrition and Food Science

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the School and maintain and promote efficiency and good order in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed by the University Act and Statutes, as determined by the Council, the Academic Board and the School Management Committee
• Ensure that the approved programmes and functions of the School are duly carried out by members of the School
