## Title: College Librarian
About the Position
The College Librarian has overall responsibility for the library, research, and information needs of the college community. This role provides leadership in advancing the college's teaching and mission through a clear vision of the library's role, comprehensive strategic planning, and incorporation of emerging technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the professional and administrative head of the college library
- Draw up and monitor the implementation of the college library strategic plan
- Establish and maintain procedures, policies, and systems that ensure efficient library operations
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the work activities of all library personnel
- Collaborate with relevant international libraries and organizations within and outside the country to attract grants for library development and exposure to international best practices
Required Qualifications
- MPhil in Library Studies, Information Studies, or related fields
- Minimum 4 years of experience as Deputy Librarian in a college of education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization
- Proficiency with library records management software
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities with a research-oriented approach
- Strong character, leadership skills, and high degree of professional integrity
- Ability to complete at least one full 4-year term before reaching the compulsory retirement age of 60 years
