Position Overview

We are seeking a suitably qualified professional to serve as College Librarian. The College Librarian provides leadership in advancing the college's teaching and research mission through a clear vision for the library's role, comprehensive strategic planning, incorporation of emerging technology, sound fiscal management, and engagement of all members in the college community.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as professional and administrative Head of the college library
• Establish and maintain procedures, policies, and systems that ensure efficient library operations
• Provide adequate, relevant, and up-to-date reading and audio-visual materials to support the college's teaching, research, and community service functions
• Collaborate with relevant institutional libraries and organizations to keep abreast of development trends and gain exposure to developed systems
• Exercise professional and administrative supervision over library staff to ensure efficient functioning
• Maintain a conducive environment for reading and learning throughout the library

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Postgraduate degree in library and information science or related field
• Previous experience serving as Deputy Librarian in a College of Education or comparable position in a similar institution
