Chief Manager, Information Technology (IT) at National Development Planning Commission

Job Purpose

Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Director, the Chief Manager, Information Technology provides leadership and administrative direction for the management and implementation of all IT-related programmes, projects and activities at the National Development Planning Commission.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate work programmes, schedules and timetables for the IT department
• Manage all network and server infrastructure for the Commission
• Design and develop procedures, standards and guidelines to support ICT system implementation across the organization
• Design and implement security measures to protect ICT installations, infrastructure, computer systems and electronic data
• Oversee development and implementation of customised systems and all computer-related activities
• Advise on and recommend technical specifications for procurement and deployment of IT equipment, software resources and ICT systems
• Advise the Director of General Services and keep them regularly informed on IT department matters
• Collaborate with the Director of General Services to organize IT-related training for staff
• Work closely with technical divisions to support and execute their work programmes
• Prepare periodic reports on IT activities, projects and issues
• Support preparation of the Commission's annual budget with appropriate IT inputs
• Ensure staff appraisals are conducted in a timely manner
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director or Director-General
