Chemistry/ Biology Teacher at GIU International Christian Academy

About the Position

We are seeking a qualified Chemistry and Biology Teacher to join our reputable international school located in Tema, Golf City, Ghana. This is a full-time position in our Education/Teaching department.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the curriculum and develop schedules, lesson plans, and teaching methods to help students cover required content
• Prepare and deliver stimulating and clear lessons
• Educate students on lab safety and ensure all experiments are carried out responsibly
• Set up tests, assignments, and experiments while grading students fairly
• Ensure appropriate resources and consultation times are available to students
• Mentor and encourage students in their studies
• Attend staff and parent meetings, conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs
• Inform and prepare students for science fairs and expos
• Handle administrative functions including updating student records and tracking lab supplies, tools, and equipment
• Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment conducive to learning

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the A Level or equivalent
