Ada College of Education is a public tertiary education institution established in 1965 and upgraded to tertiary status by Act of Parliament in 2012 (Act 847). The College is affiliated with the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and is located in Ada, Accra, Ghana.

Position Overview

We are seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the position of Vice Principal.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Principal in overall management, academic administration, and disciplinary issues of the College in accordance with the Colleges of Education Act 2012 (Act 847) and other regulatory provisions
Perform functions assigned by the Principal of the College
Act in the absence of the Principal

Required Qualifications & Experience

Demonstrate good character and high degree of personal integrity
Be a distinguished master teacher and scholar in Teaching and Learning
Hold at least the rank of Principal Tutor in a College of Education
Have at least five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience in a senior management position
Possess good knowledge and understanding of challenges facing Colleges of Education and tertiary education in Ghana
Be prepared to propose and implement measures to address institutional challenges
Be able to complete one full term before reaching the compulsory retirement age of 60 years

Tenure

The Vice Principal shall hold office for a period of three (3) years and may be eligible for re-appointment for one additional term only.
