Vice-Chancellor at University of Media Arts and Communication (UniMAC)

About the Role

The Vice-Chancellor is the academic and administrative head of the University and is accountable to the Governing Council. This is a full-time position based in Accra, Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Chief Disciplinary Officer of the University with authority over all employees and the student body, subject to the University's Act and Statutes
• Promote quality higher education and research, and provide academic and administrative leadership
• Set and implement the strategic agenda aligned with the University's broad strategic plans
• Initiate new directions in academic development and protect the integrity of the University's processes
• Serve as the public face of the University, representing the institution to the outside world and participating in the council of universities internationally

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Hold a PhD and possess professorial status in a relevant area aligned with the University's mandate
• Demonstrate extensive research experience
• Be a distinguished scholar of international repute
• Display unblemished character and a high degree of personal integrity
• Possess mature and sober judgment
• Show creativity in vision and strategic thinking
