Position Overview

The Systems Analyst provides technical support to the Deputy Chief Information Officer (IT Services) and the Head of Academic Computing. This role focuses on managing critical academic computing systems including Library Management Systems, web interfaces, live chat systems, and the institutional repository, with additional responsibilities as assigned by the CITO/Deputy CITO.

Unit and Reporting

Unit: Information Technology Services

Reports To: Deputy Chief Information Technology Officer (IT Services)

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain consistent, reliable operation, delivery, and access to the University's Sierra Integrated Library System (ILS)
• Coordinate WebPAC customizations and improvements in collaboration with the Libraries and ILS vendor
• Implement and maintain consistent, reliable operation, delivery, and access to the University's Institutional Repository System (UGSpace)
• Provide systems administration and support for UG EZproxy server
• Provide systems support for all University Academic Databases, eBook Platforms, and EBSCO Discovery Service
• Maintain UG Libraries Ask-a-Librarian Live Chat application, Past Exams Papers application, and Research Guides Platform
• Oversee timely and efficient troubleshooting assistance by investigating and resolving issues related to ILS and other library systems
• Support library staff and University users from issue identification through resolution on all Library and Research services platforms
• Provide leadership in implementing open-source systems and applications for UG Libraries and allied research units
• Coordinate generation of ad hoc and recurring reports
