About GIZ
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is a public-benefit federal enterprise working in more than 100 countries worldwide. We support public and private sector clients across a wide variety of areas including economic development and employment, energy and environment, and peace and security.

- Training and Sustainable Growth for Decent Jobs
- Peaceful and Inclusive Societies – good governance and social stability
Project Overview
GIZ supports CoM SSA (Covenant of Mayors for Sub-Saharan Africa) through Phase IV, which aims to significantly scale the initiative's impact by enhancing access to finance for climate-resilient urban infrastructure.
Through close collaboration with selected CoM SSA cities, GIZ strengthens climate-resilient urban planning and provides targeted technical assistance for infrastructure project preparation. This includes advisory services for financing, private-sector engagement, and the integration of inclusive, participatory planning approaches—particularly in energy transition, urban resilience, and adaptation to climate change.
Through CoM SSA, local authorities across Sub-Saharan Africa make voluntary political commitments to implement climate and energy strategies aligned with long-term goals for climate change mitigation, adaptation, and equitable access to sustainable energy.

The Technical Advisor will support the development and implementation of technically sound, finance-ready infrastructure projects, focusing on energy systems, sustainable mobility, and smart solutions.
