About GIZ
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is a public-benefit federal enterprise working in more than 100 countries worldwide. Project Overview
GIZ supports the Covenant of Mayors for Sub-Saharan Africa (CoM SSA) through its current implementation phase (Phase IV). This phase aims to significantly scale the initiative's impact by enhancing access to finance for climate-resilient urban infrastructure.
GIZ works in close collaboration with selected CoM SSA cities to:
- Strengthen climate-resilient urban planning
- Provide targeted technical assistance for infrastructure project preparation
- Deliver advisory services for financing and private-sector engagement
- Integrate inclusive, participatory planning approaches
Through CoM SSA, local authorities across Sub-Saharan Africa make voluntary political commitments to implement climate and energy strategies aligned with long-term goals for climate change mitigation, adaptation, and equitable access to sustainable energy.
Role and Responsibilities
The Technical Advisor will support the development and implementation of technically sound, finance-ready infrastructure projects, with a focus on:
- Energy systems
- Sustainable mobility
- Smart solutions
