About This Role

The Water Resources Commission Of Ghana invites applications from qualified Ghanaian professionals to fill vacant Senior Water Management Officer positions in the Head Office and basin offices.

Job Purpose

To provide technical and operational support for the effective and efficient performance of the water management functions of the commission.

Key Responsibilities

• Collate data for the formulation of policies
• Implement, monitor, and evaluate programmes and activities of the Directorate
• Develop and update databases on water resources
• Provide inputs for the development and management of water resources
• Provide inputs for the development of research proposals
• Lead the conduct of aquatic ecological surveys
• Develop, implement, and review pollution control measures for water resources
• Manage the commission's laboratory
• Prepare annual and periodic reports of the Directorate
• Supervise and appraise the performance of subordinate staff

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Water Resources Engineering and Management, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation, Chemistry, or a related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
• Minimum of 4 years of post-bachelor's degree relevant work experience in a reputable organisation

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in a relevant and recognised professional body
