Senior Technician at GRATIS Foundation

About the Position

GRATIS Foundation, an agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI), is recruiting a Senior Technician to join our workshop team. This is a full-time engineering position based in Tema, Ghana.

Major Functions

• Perform welding and fabrication work in the workshop
• Operate fabrication equipment including Guillotine, Rolling, Folding and Bending machines, Lathe, Grinding, Milling, and Drilling machines
• Operate and manage workshop machinery
• Interpret and utilize engineering drawings for equipment fabrication
• Undertake routine maintenance of workshop equipment

Qualifications & Experience Required

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years post-qualification experience in a related field
• HND in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
• Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice (MECP) Part 1 or Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) Part 1 or National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Trade Test Grade 1, with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience
• GRATIS-trained technician holding a GRATIS-Ghana Education Service/Technical Examinations Unit craft certificate with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience
