Senior Technical Officer at AGI Energy Service Centre

About the Position

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) is seeking an experienced technical expert to support its Energy Service Centre (ESC) in managing projects and providing renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) advisory and technical services to clients.

The Senior Technical Officer will work in close collaboration with the ESC team and sector stakeholders. This role involves supervising and supporting one Technical Officer while reporting to the Chief Technical Officer of AGI-ESC.

Primary Objectives

• Support AGI-ESC's operations to enhance its service portfolio and generate income through projects

Key Responsibilities

Service Development & Capacity Building

• Improve capacities of commercial and industrial companies (C&I) in planning their renewable energy and energy efficiency investments
• Develop, organise, and facilitate technical and advisory services and training for C&I and service providers in the sector
• Liaise with project partners, donors, and other stakeholders in the design and execution of projects
• Assist in structuring and amending AGI-ESC's technical activities, services, training programmes, and other products to market services to existing and potential clients

Client Acquisition

• Conduct personal selling and direct marketing efforts to acquire C&I clients
• Draft agreements and contracts

Project Implementation

• Carry out and/or supervise renewable energy feasibility studies and energy efficiency audits at C&I facilities
• Provide transaction advisory assistance to companies in realising their projects through tenders and other processes
• Conduct owner's engineering including quality control of third-party project implementers
• Prepare reports for clients, AGI, donors, and other project partners

Training & Additional Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and preparation of training programmes and other capacity-building activities
• Support any other assignments as assigned by AGI-ESC and AGI
