Position Overview

ACET's Board of Directors approved a 2021–2025 Strategy with five components. Gender Equity and Equality in Economic Transformation is one of the five pillars in this strategy. ACET is recruiting a Senior Gender Economist to lead the organization's gender and economic transformation portfolio.

Job Summary

The Senior Gender Economist will lead ACET's work on gender equality and economic transformation. This role involves supporting other ACET teams to embed a gender lens across the organization's portfolio and developing high-quality analysis on gender-related economic issues.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Executive Vice President and advisory groups to develop ACET's flagship African Transformation Report on Gender and Economic Transformation (ATR4), serving as the internal coordinator for the report
  • Provide intellectual leadership to ACET's policy analysis and technical work on gender equality and women's empowerment
  • Develop and lead a world-class gender equality program that delivers high-quality analysis and thought leadership on gender equity, equality, women's economic empowerment, and emerging relevant areas
  • Serve as the principal resource person on gender issues, practices, and policy matters across the organization
