About Our Africa Operations

Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana: the Ahafo Mine in the Brong-Ahafo region and the Akyem Mine in the Eastern region. The organization also focuses on near-mine exploration and development to annually replace gold reserves, with early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.

Our Africa operations employ approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. We maintain high standards in environmental management, health and safety, while creating value and opportunity for our employees, host communities, and shareholders.

Community Development

The Akyem and Ahafo mines have made significant sustainable community development investments in host communities. Each mine contributes US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into its community development fund.

About This Role

Implement, continuously improve, and execute Newmont's regional outline agreement services procurement strategy, policies, and guidelines to drive shared value.
