About the Position

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Reporter for Graphic Showbiz.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, write and prepare a variety of stories for inclusion in newspapers, covering both specialized and general areas
• Identify and pursue story leads independently or as assigned by the Editor
• Conduct interviews and write research-backed articles for online platforms (Graphic Online & NewsPlus)
• Assist in editing, fact-checking, and planning news pages and stories for online portals
• Collaborate on special stories and investigations as required

Minimum Qualifications

You must meet one of the following criteria:

• First Degree in Communication, Journalism Studies or related field with a minimum of two (2) years' work experience, preferably in online journalism; OR
• Diploma in Journalism from a reputable institution with a minimum of four (4) years' work experience, preferably in the arts and entertainment industry
• Current membership with the Ghana Journalists Association

Required Skills and Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong keen interest in arts and entertainment
• Good report writing skills
• Analytical mindset with an eye for detail
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and extended hours
• Flexible approach to working arrangements
• Strong computer literacy skills, including page planning software
• Research methodology skills (desired but not essential)
