About the Organization
The Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research (CBCR), in partnership with the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary (WCHS) and the Wilder Institute of the Calgary Zoo Foundation, is seeking a Project Manager to facilitate capacity building, development, and conservation efforts in the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary and neighboring communities, ensuring sustained success of community conservation initiatives.
Job Summary
The Project Manager will provide management, technical, and strategic direction for the project, including designing, developing, implementing, and supervising all project activities.
Job Location
- 80% - Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary office, Wechiau, Upper West Region, Ghana
- 20% - Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research office, University of Ghana, Accra
Employment Details

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management, Conservation, Biology, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of professional working experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a management position
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Proven success in project proposal development
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability and willingness to travel locally on a daily basis
- Strong team player with collaborative approach
