Programme Officer at IRC Ghana

Position Overview

We are seeking a Programme Officer to join IRC Ghana. This is a full-time position based in Accra, with responsibility for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) service delivery projects across Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in project development and implementation
• Manage and coordinate projects with partners
• Provide content expertise and leadership for water, sanitation, and hygiene service delivery
• Oversee smooth implementation of short to medium-term projects in accordance with planning, approaches, and timelines
• Coordinate field activities, monitor project outcomes, and track impact at district and sector level
• Support IRC Ghana business development for fundraising and new project acquisition
• Support research, studies, learning, and communication initiatives
• Support IRC thematic reporting

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Master's degree (preferred)
• Good knowledge and understanding of key concepts and trends in the WASH sector
• Relevant experience in research (design, data analysis, and report writing) and policy analysis
• Demonstrated experience in learning, knowledge management, and networking
• Proven field work coordination experience
• Fluency in English and preferably one local language spoken in the Ahafo Region
• Strong writing skills
• Understanding of project management
• Proven project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a district
• Willingness to work in a district setting and travel nationally and internationally

Contract Details

The candidate will initially be offered a one-year contract, including a six-month probation period. The contract is renewable subject to good performance and availability of funds.
