Position Overview

University of Media Arts and Communication (UniMAC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Pro Vice-Chancellor.

Job Summary

The Pro Vice-Chancellor shall serve as deputy to the Vice-Chancellor and assist in providing leadership for organising and conducting the academic, financial and administrative business of the university. This role promotes the efficiency and good order of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Exercise the powers specified in the Act and such others as may be delegated by the Vice-Chancellor
• Coordinate the day-to-day control and administration of academic affairs
• Represent the Vice-Chancellor when required
• Chair relevant committees

Required Qualifications

• PhD holder in an appropriate field
• Minimum rank of Associate Professor
• At least 10 years of managerial experience at a senior level in higher education
• Proven track record of teaching, research and administration at tertiary level

Employment Terms

The position is full-time. The appointment shall be for a period of 4 years and may be renewed upon application for a further term of up to 4 years only. Qualified applicants must be able to complete one full term prior to attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.
