About the Organization

The Water Resources Commission of Ghana is a reputable public service organization inviting applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians for a vacant position based in the Head Office and its basin offices.

Job Purpose

To provide technical and administrative support for the effective and efficient performance of the policy, planning, research, monitoring, and evaluation functions of the commission.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inputs for the formulation of organizational policies
• Contribute to the preparation of the commission's strategic plan
• Monitor and evaluate the programmes and activities of the commission
• Supervise the implementation of programmes and activities within the directorate
• Develop guidelines and strategies for conducting research, monitoring, and evaluation activities
• Oversee the timely preparation, production, and dissemination of fact sheets, policy briefs, research findings, reports, and peer-reviewed articles
• Develop research agenda and research proposals
• Supervise the conduct of research activities
• Supervise the preparation of annual, periodic, and other commission reports
• Oversee the preparation of annual and mid-year budget and workplan documents
• Supervise the preparation of directorate-level annual budget and work plan
• Supervise and appraise the performance of subordinate staff

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in one of the following disciplines from an accredited tertiary institution:
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Hydrology
  • Any other related discipline
• Membership in a relevant and recognized professional body (e.g., GhIE, Geosciences)
• Minimum of 6 years of post-Bachelor's Degree relevant work experience
