Job Purpose

To provide technical support for the effective and efficient performance of the policy, planning, research, monitoring, and evaluation functions of the commission.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide inputs for the formulation of policies
• Provide inputs for the preparation of the commission's strategic plan
• Monitor and evaluate the programmes and activities of the commission
• Supervise the implementation of programmes and activities of the directorate
• Develop guidelines and strategies for the conduct of research, monitoring, and evaluation activities
• Supervise the timely preparation, production, and dissemination of fact sheets, policy briefs, research findings, reports, and peer-reviewed articles
• Develop research agenda and research proposals
• Supervise the conduct of research
• Supervise the preparation of annual, periodic, and other reports of the commission
• Supervise the preparation of annual and mid-year budget and workplan of the commission
• Supervise the preparation of the annual budget and work plan of the Directorate
• Supervise and appraise the performance of subordinate staff

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydrology, or any other related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
• Membership in a relevant and recognised professional body (e.g., GhIE, Geosciences)
• Minimum of 6 years of post-Bachelor's Degree relevant work experience
