Job Summary

The Network/Systems Administrator reports to the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) or their representative and is responsible for identifying the specific IT needs of assigned college/units and ensuring all IT services are provided in a timely manner to support the unit in line with the University of Ghana's vision and mission, based on UGCS standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and leadership for the college/unit in all areas of ICT planning and management under the auspices of UGCS
• Lead IT initiatives across the unit and work with central IT managers to ensure alignment of UGCS IT services with University goals
• Provide leadership and supervision to IT staff within the college/unit, ensuring high performance, quality, and efficiency
• Collaborate with IT managers across UGCS to coordinate services and support
• Recommend innovative approaches to delivering relevant IT services to the college/unit
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and standards
• Organize IT resources to support the execution of business objectives
• Coordinate with other departments and teams to understand and meet business systems requirements
• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning initiatives
• Develop and supervise implementation of staff workplans for constituent schools
• Conduct staff performance appraisals and complete other assignments as directed by the CITO or Provost

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering
