Position Overview

This role offers an excellent platform for professional development. The Farm Supervisor will oversee agricultural operations, manage farm workers, and ensure optimal crop yield and product quality on a large-scale institutional farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect crops and fields to determine maturity, yield, and work requirements such as cultivating, weeding, and harvesting
• Direct and assist in the repair and proper maintenance of farm machines and equipment
• Supervise and support general farm workers' day-to-day activities
• Assess, recommend, and implement work procedures that benefit farm operations
• Oversee sorting and overall handling of produce to ensure the highest quality standards
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed consistently by all workers
• Supervise and coordinate farm workers and laborers in crop maintenance and harvesting activities
• Evaluate weather and soil conditions to inform farming decisions
• Plan and supervise planting, cultivating, harvesting, and storing of crops
• Create and manage work schedules and establish safety procedures
• Train employees on work site procedures and requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or HND in Agricultural Engineering or related Agriculture field
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Farm Supervisor or formal training in agriculture
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to work long hours, early mornings, and weekends when required
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Capable of performing heavy lifting and physical labor
