Lead Specialist, Regulatory – (Finco) at MTN Ghana

Job Summary

Provide expert advice and manage legal and regulatory compliance, processes, and policies for fintech and financial services. This role encompasses regulatory compliance related to current and emerging financial technology platforms, with responsibility for both established and emerging regulatory and legal compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory guidance to manage compliance and regulatory standards for Mobile Money Limited (MML)
• Develop and drive regulatory affairs and government and stakeholder relations strategy for MML
• Prepare terms and conditions governing MML applications pursuant to applicable laws
• Assess the impact of potential changes driven by local regulation, industry, marketplace, and legal environment, and provide guidance for leadership decision-making
• Provide guidance on compliance with a range of laws, regulations, and industry rules regarding MML
• Coordinate and conduct research on regulatory approvals and provide input into proposed legislation, policies, and regulations
• Review and analyse proposed or new laws and regulations relevant to the FinTech industry, consumer rights, financial data aggregators, and regulated financial institutions
• Advise MML on evolving regulatory and compliance trends in the local and global fintech ecosystem and recommend proactive interventions
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to position public relations and communications across multiple channels
• Oversee renewal processes for all licenses and manage activities related to renewal decisions
• Provide timely, concise, and business-focused legal and regulatory advice on evolving compliance matters
