Newmont Mining Corporation is a leading global gold producer with key assets in Nevada, Peru, Australia, Ghana, and Suriname. The company is the only gold company listed in the S&P 500 index and was the first gold company selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index in 2007.
About Our Africa Operations
Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana:
- Ahafo Mine (located in the Brong-Ahafo region)
- Akyem Mine (located in the Eastern region)
The operations also conduct near-mine exploration and development activities to annually replace gold reserves, and maintain early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.
Africa Operations employs approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. The organization is committed to high standards in environmental management, health and safety, and creating value for employees, host communities, and shareholders.
Community Development
Both Akyem and Ahafo mines have made significant sustainable community development investments in their host communities. Development Funds have been established at each operational area, with each mine contributing US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into its community development fund.
About This Role
The Land Management Officer will work with the Sustainability and External Relations Land Access team, providing support to the Land Management Coordinator on land management initiatives.

We offer an unparalleled blend of opportunity and career satisfaction with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities that make Newmont a great place to work.
