IT Officer at Reputable Financial Institution

Role Purpose

The IT Officer will maintain, upgrade, and manage the organisation's software, hardware, and networks to ensure that the institution's IT systems are secured and functional at all times.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Install and configure software, hardware, operating systems, and applications
• Maintain and upgrade the institution's software, hardware, and networks
• Manage servers and technology tools
• Diagnose and resolve IT problems
• Support the roll-out of new applications
• Respond rapidly to branch call-outs on IT issues
• Conduct annual computer audits for the institution

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a BSc or BA in Information Technology or Computer Science with a minimum of 5 years of working experience with a financial institution. Professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator - MCSA) is desirable.

Core Competencies

• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
• Experience in databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management
• Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup and recovery
• CCTV management and backup collection
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
