ICT Officer at Encyclopaedia Africana Project

Job Purpose

The ICT Officer shall oversee the Secretariat's interactions with the public by implementing online content strategies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Regular website maintenance and content management
• Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily across social media accounts
• Plan and develop social media campaigns to build a community online
• Craft compelling social media content
• Collaborate with the research and editorial team to ensure that social media is used to support the overall business goals
• Engage with stakeholders on different channels
• Generate analytic reports and interpret data
• Monitor and respond to comments and questions
• Connect current news and events to service provision and delivery
• Perform any other duties as may be required

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Communication Studies, or related field from a recognized university.

Required Experience

• 3 or more years of social media experience in planning and managing content
• Proven track record of growing and retaining social media audiences

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience with web design and publishing
• A grasp of the latest SEO best practices, website security, and an eye for design
• Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
• Proven ability and experience in the production of online video content
