ICT Officer at Encyclopaedia Africana Project

Job Purpose

The ICT Officer will oversee the Secretariat's interactions with the public by implementing online content strategies across digital platforms.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform regular website maintenance and content management
• Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily across social media accounts
• Plan and develop social media campaigns to build and grow online communities
• Craft compelling social media content aligned with organizational goals
• Collaborate with the research and editorial team to ensure social media supports overall business objectives
• Engage with stakeholders across different communication channels
• Generate analytic reports and interpret data to measure performance
• Monitor and respond to comments and questions from audiences
• Connect current news and events to service provision and delivery
• Perform any other duties as may be required

Qualifications Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Communication Studies, or related field from a recognized university.

Experience

• 3 or more years of social media experience in planning and managing content
• Proven track record of growing and retaining social media audiences

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience with web design and publishing
• Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, website security, and design principles
• Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of best practices for major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.)
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and other relevant programs
• Proven ability and experience in the production of online video content
