About the Role

Join our Finance Department as Head of Business Control. Reporting to the Director of Risk and Business Control, you will be responsible for safeguarding company assets by identifying inadequate, inefficient, or ineffective internal controls, assessing risks, and recommending mitigation measures and improvements. You will ensure full compliance with the internal control manual, policies, and procedures, as well as revenue assurance. As a local relay of the corporate business control team, you will foster all group-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the team to assess risks, review and assist in the development of policies and procedures, ensure their implementation, and monitor compliance
• Plan and execute internal control reviews through peer reviews and other assessments by understanding organizational objectives, structure, policies, processes, internal controls, and external regulations
• Identify risk areas and prepare the scope and objectives for control assessments
• Lead awareness campaigns on Internal Control in Ghana
• Assess compliance with all applicable regulations by ensuring that controls in place cover the risks identified by regulators
• Identify areas of non-compliance, evaluate manual and automated financial processes, and identify process weaknesses, inefficiencies, and operational issues
• Coordinate self-assessment campaigns and ensure timely delivery of results
• Follow up on remediation of agreed actions from external audits, internal audits, and internal reviews such as peer reviews and self-assessments
