Position Overview

A reputable Oil Marketing company seeks to employ a Head of IT who will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of IT policies, standards, infrastructural designs, systems applications, and network security in line with international best practices to support the organization's business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Set objectives and strategies for the IT department
• Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and optimize their strategic benefits
• Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience
• Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization
• Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
• Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance
• Direct and organize IT-related projects
• Monitor advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain a competitive advantage
• Analyse the costs, value, and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a recognized institution (a certificate in information technology is an added advantage)
• 10+ years of experience in the IT field with relevant certificates
• Proven experience in an IT managerial role
• Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, especially Electronic Payment and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems
• Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation
• Special knowledge in cloud, data analytics, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence
• Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
