About Our Africa Operations
Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana:
- Ahafo Mine (located in the Brong-Ahafo region)
- Akyem Mine (located in the Eastern region)
The operations also conduct near-mine exploration and development activities in Ghana to annually replace gold reserves, along with early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.
Africa Operations employs approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. Both the Akyem and Ahafo mines have made significant sustainable community development investments, with each mine contributing US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into community development funds.
About This Role
To plan, supervise, and coordinate Process Plant electrical maintenance activities in a safe and cost-effective manner to enable full optimization of operations.
