About Our Operations
Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana: the Ahafo Mine located in the Brong-Ahafo region and the Akyem Mine located in the Eastern region. The organization also conducts near-mine exploration and development activities to annually replace gold reserves, with early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.
Africa operations employ approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. Our operations maintain high standards in environmental management, health and safety, while creating value and opportunity for employees, host communities, and shareholders.
Both the Akyem and Ahafo mines have established Development Funds in their operational areas, with each mine contributing US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into community development initiatives.
About This Role
The Fixed Plant Operator – Underground will operate underground mine infrastructure, plant, and equipment with the aim of delivering optimum mine productivity.
