About the Position

The Ghana Baptist University College (GBUC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Finance Officer. This is a full-time role reporting to the President and the Council.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Chief Accounting Officer of the University College
• Manage and administer the finances of the University
• Ensure proper books of accounts and records of assets and liabilities are maintained in accordance with Council requirements
• Prepare financial statements and estimates for Council consideration
• Develop and prepare Business Plans and Budgets for the University
• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and reliability of financial records and information for decision-making
• Promote fund mobilization and raise finance at minimum cost of capital while ensuring prudent investment of surplus funds in accordance with the University's investment policy
• Manage financial risks efficiently
• Provide assistance to Internal and External Auditors in the discharge of their duties
• Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of personnel responsible for accounts, budgets, revenue generation, and spending; eliminate waste in the system
• Direct and participate in the preparation of operating and capital budgets at the Central Administration level
• Provide technical assistance in budgeting and budget analysis at School and Departmental levels
• Initiate and supervise the installation of new and improved financial systems and procedures
• Maintain close liaison with public and private financial agencies
