About the Position

BIA Lamplighter College of Education seeks a suitably qualified, goal-oriented, analytical, innovative, visionary, and results-driven professional for the position of Finance Officer. This is a top management position heading a major division of the college.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Chief Accounting Officer of the college and Chief Financial Advisor to the Principal
• Administer the financial affairs of the college to ensure its financial health and exercise direct superintendence over all accounting officers
• Collect all legitimate revenue due to the college
• Exercise control over expenditure in line with the college's objectives and budgets
• Prepare the annual budget of the college for presentation to the appropriate governing body for approval and implementation
• Ensure that the financial statements of the college are drawn up in accordance with the law establishing the colleges, statutes, applicable accounting standards, and all other regulations approved by the college and relevant national laws
• Liaise with appointed external auditors to ensure the college's financial statements are properly audited

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A good first degree or comparable qualification plus a professional qualification
• A Master's degree in Finance is appropriate
• Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Deputy Finance Officer in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution or organisation
