Job Purpose

To provide strategic leadership, technical, and administrative direction for the achievement of the mandate of the Commission.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate action for the formulation of policies
• Ensure implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes and activities
• Serve as a member of the Governing Board
• Exercise oversight responsibility for efficient and effective management of human, material, and financial resources
• Develop systems for paralegal participation in legal aid delivery
• Represent the Commission to related international bodies and agencies
• Develop and oversee the strategic plan of the Commission
• Establish appropriate internal structures, controls, management systems, and decision-making processes
• Initiate fundraising activities with development partners and stakeholders
• Prepare annual and periodic reports of the Commission
• Build and manage an effective, dedicated, and inclusive work environment
• Collaborate and build relationships with Government, Public, Private sector partners, and other stakeholders at national and international levels
• Sign and seal contractual agreements between individuals or groups and the Commission
• Ensure preparation of budgets and work plans
• Oversee implementation of Performance Management Systems
