About the Role

The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Electrical Engineer. This full-time role requires operational support for the achievement of the Institute's objectives.

Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will design, develop, and test electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors, navigation systems, and electrical systems for various applications. You will oversee the manufacture, installation, servicing, and maintenance of these devices, systems, and equipment. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of complex institutional electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, implement, or improve electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment, products, or systems for industrial, commercial, or domestic purposes
• Perform a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment
• Confer with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects
• Ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps
• Establish construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing detailed calculations
• Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Engineer credential
• Extensive experience as an electrical engineer in a related organization
