About the Position

Catholic University College of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Director of Works and Physical Development. The successful candidate will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor through the Registrar.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the physical and infrastructural works and facilities of the University
• Exercise oversight responsibility over the operations of all Municipal Services of the University
• Provide supervision of works and contracts to ensure that construction and renovations comply with prevailing industry standards and specifications, taking into account the special needs and requirements of the University
• Advise the University on all matters affecting tenders on building and other projects to enable the award of contracts
• Handle preliminary matters on contracts involving the physical or infrastructural development of the University and/or the use of any part of the University's lands, subject to the approval of the Development Committee and advice of the University Legal Services Unit
• Manage all construction contracts to ensure compliance and timely project delivery
• Collaborate with the Procurement Office to procure works and consultancy services relating to technical advice on construction, in compliance with national laws and institutional statutes
• Manage and control land use, and maintain records on all land transactions entered into by and on behalf of the University
• Manage and maintain the buildings, roads, and related infrastructure
