Digital / Software Engineer at Ministry of Local Government Decentralisation and Rural Development

About the Position

The Digital/Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, integrating, synchronizing, updating, and monitoring all digital tools and systems under the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop project-related system and software applications based on project requirements to support activities and maximize the use of digital solutions
• Facilitate the system specification review process to ensure system requirements are fully translated into valid software architecture
• Provide suitable specifications for all IT equipment to be acquired for project delivery and confirm receipt to ensure value for money
• Conduct evaluations on computer hardware and accessories and offer solutions where needed
• Ensure prompt response to all IT needs of the project and easy access to project-related data by all relevant stakeholders
• Recommend technical specifications including hardware, software, connectivity, and personnel requirements for running the system
• Incorporate user feedback and improvements as recommended by the MIS Specialist and other system/software users
• Explore potential applications of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning in the project
• Ensure regular upgrades and enhancements of system and software applications where necessary
• Assist in scoping and piloting digital solutions and innovations under the project
• Assist in periodic review of processes, procedures, and reporting formats and make necessary arrangements for database software improvement
• Perform other related tasks as assigned
